The Grass is Always Greener?

Looks kind of painful for greener grass?

Isn’t that always the case? The grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence. Why is that? Why does everyone want to be on the other side of the fence?

Growing  up on Stone River Farm in Wrightsville, PA my family had horses. Now the horse paddock wasn’t the greenest of fields after a few years for the two horses (Tripper and Chancey). In that essence I can see them saying, “Man that grass on the other side of the fence is greener, lets break out!” Which they did a few times.

Like Tripper and Chancey we look at our paddock and see what we don’t have. Instead for us it’s not grass, but it’s everything we don’t have and what the others have.  You place focus on what your friends and family have that you don’t. They could have a better looking job, lifestyle, friends, etc. Where you are stuck with your normal everyday life. You want what they have and that would make your life easier, right? WRONG!

The thing is everyone goes through hard time and good times. The grass may look greener, but I bet if you step over to their side of the fence you will see things differently. The field on the other side is just as good as your field, there is holes on both sides and some bright green patches also. The trick is just enjoying the good with the bad.

In essence this is life, you have to enjoy and embrace what you truly have. If you aren’t meant to have it then you shouldn’t have it. Everyone leads different paths and yes people are going to better then you. Also people are going to worse off then you. The trick is just owning what you have and loving it!

You don’t want to sit on the fence all day gazing at other yards do you? Stop right now and take a deep breath. Look at the pros in your life. Maybe you have an amazing spouse? Or maybe you are single and have a great dog or cat to come home to? Whatever you have just love it and stop worrying about what the rest of the world has. You will get what is good for you in time. Trust me, it will make your life a little easier.

Enjoying you’re fields is just another small step to survive in this Savage World and not just living in it, but starting to own it!
