Spirit of Giving

Beautiful isn't it?

Tis the season to spread love and joy! Truly one of my favorite times of year! Doesn’t matter what you believe in or how you celebrate, as long as you share your love with your friends and family.

Many people view this time of year as to commercial and the corporations are killing this holiday. Honestly, holiday seasons like this is amazing not just for you, but for the economy.

The other night, I was watching the local news and they did research on retailers this year. The numbers were up on items being sold. Probably the biggest reason is the companies are finally listening to the struggles of the people. Deals are going on like crazy, every where you turn there is x percent off or buy one get one free deal.

The economy may look ugly as ever, but signs of changes are coming up and it’s beginning to show. No matter what you are saying right now about your struggles. This is not the time to dwell on the bad, but focus on what you have.

This past Sunday, my wife and I did our own Christmas sitting on the floor of our living room. We spent more this year, but not overboard. It was a special Christmas for us. She was creative in how she let me open my gifts and I spoiled her favorite type of gifts. Honestly, we didn’t care what we spent on each other. The real joy was having a morning with each other expressing our love to one and other.

Yes, it’s easy to say I love you every day or let someone know they mean a lot to you by telling them. The holiday is different, it’s a time to really show them your love by giving them gifts they really want. Showing them that you truly listen to who they are and what they want. Plus you get time to sit down and just relax with your love ones.

Personally, I am a giant gift giver. My gift giving is probably something I look forward to every year. Would rather give then receive. My joy is seeing the person face up when they get what they want and smile big.

Looking back the economy is on an upswing, small, but not as bad as it was. Giving to people should be fun and a joy. Have a safe holiday season and enjoy your time with the love ones. It should be a special time of year.

Enjoy the spirit of giving in this Savage world; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
