Respecting Time

Respect it!

No matter if you are meetings someone for a cup of coffee or getting on a call to close a deal, being on time is important. Even being five minutes late can hurt your image and how you are going to be viewed. Even if you are the one that is having the salesman visit or call you. Just be on time.

Many times, we get caught up in life and our own worlds, when we go to meet someone we are late. Even if the other is late, you should still be there on time out of respect. The time we have in this day and age is limited.  To many times people just get lost in working with their kids, job, personal issues, etc. In the end it’s really just excuses to be late.

The person on the other end has most of the same problems and when you are late it messes up the day. Plans are made and if being late or not showing to that appointment really hurts. It may not seem it, even to the other party.

This all comes down to time management and staying true to your word. If you are late here and there, okay that happens. If it’s a habit, you need to look at what you are doing wrong. What is causing you to be late? Why can’t you ever make it on time? Why do you just decide to not be there for the sales call?

Time to get some management on your time. Calendars are a great start, but not always 100% affective to running your life. To do list help along with the calendar to make sure you are on top of things. Even plan out the day and week in advance, so you know what to do and be prepared for the appointments. Also be flexible for openings of new appointments.

Another tool is leave early for the appointment. It’s okay to be the first one there, plus it allows you to gather your thoughts. This shows you are on time and ready to go to your counterpart. Comes down to respecting their time.

Respecting time is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer living in, but beginning to own!
