Do It Yourself!

It's not as hard as it looks!

The other night I was installing some new fixtures in my home. For some reason, it just took a lot of effort to get it all put in place. So, an hour or so goes by and I am finally done looking at what was installed. Let me tell you one thing, it felt great!

Now I am not mister handy, far from it. Though if the toilet breaks or something needs to be fixed around the house, I am on it. Over this past two years what has been learned about fixing a house is amazing. Really, can’t tell you how great it feels every time I add onto the house or fix an issue.

At first the issue can always seem far and out of reach. Sometimes it’s a giant challenge. For example at work, your boss wants you to do a major project and you really have no idea where to even start. Slowly, though you start to figure everything out as you go on and when it’s all said and done, you are thrilled.

It’s all the feeling of achieving something hard. Really, you can pay for a person to come out and do all your work. That’s no fun though and there is little reward in that feeling. If you can learn to be handy in your home, office, etc. you can become a much better person. Also you become a lot more positive, because you can do it!

Everything in life is a challenge and sometimes yes, we need help. Other times you can do it yourself and really feel great about it. This weekend, try something hard. Focus on a project and say, I am going to finally get that done. Could be to build that bird house you wanted to or get that major report done for your boss to have it ready a week early on Monday.

The task maybe hard and long, but if you do it and at least work on it you will fill good in the end. Trust me, I do it all the time over here and it is one thing I love to do!

Learning how to do it yourself is amazing in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
