The Joys of Making Others Happy

For you who don’t know, along from running my own business, I am also a mascot for a basketball team here in Kentucky. One of the biggest joys of being a mascot is the positive feedback from children and adults alike. Nothing brightens my day then making everyone smile and have a great time.

This brings me to the point of the day, which is working on bringing joys to others. Now I am not saying to do whatever they want to make them happy or hurt yourself to make it better for them. Mainly, work on just being a good person and help them become happy.

This is a pretty simple task to do. Don’t be a bitter, selfish, and/or hateful person. Also do small things to let people know that they are important. For example you’re the manager of the office and you show up to work with a little treat for your employees. Also as the manager or even a co-worker, you can reach to everyone and say they are doing an awesome job on whatever they are working on. That small comment goes a far way.

As the Mascot, my job is to dance, get the crowd pumped, and everyone happy! In essence that is what a manager is supposed to do. Dance (work) with the employees to get them pumped on the task, and at the end of the day/task make sure everyone is happy.

Sometimes, we get stuck in our own pain and just forget to care about the rest of the world. No matter what is going on that is ugly in your head or world, remember people are mostly good and 95% of them didn’t cause that pain. Smile and let them know how great they are.  By helping others become happy, you too will find the join in their happiness. Smile big now and go out there today to help make the world as sunny as the weather!

Making others happy is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer living in, but beginning to own!
