Heart Goes to Japan

Almost like a movie

In case you were safe high atop of Mount Fuji, then you have heard about the disaster that hit last Friday in Japan.  The tsunami that hit Japan destroying towns, claiming lives, and leaving thousands missing, really grabbed this guy’s heart.

Now before the doomsayers come out and claim the second coming of Jesus or Doomsday is upon us, stop and think for a second. Natural disasters happen a lot and they are not all connect to one and another or the end of the world. Can’t tell you how many Facebook and tweets I read yesterday about the end of the world. Instead of helping they become more of a problem, causing unneeded panic.

Instead of running around like Chicken Little claiming that the sky is falling, reach out to your neighbors in Japan. The aftermath of this event is like a bad chain reaction starting with earthquakes, followed by a tsunami, leading to nuclear reactors blowing up, and mixed with some radiation winds coming for Tokyo.

It’s never easy when something like this shakes our world. We remember 9/11/2001 and Haiti in 2010 and how we all felt when it happen. Though it’s how we respond to these events that shows even with all the wars and hate in the world, as a human race we still come together to help out.

The thing to learn from Japan and other disasters, is we need to stick together on this. Difference aside no matter race, gender, country, etc. as a human race we need to band together and make this place better. The only shining light in this moment of tragedy, is the sight of the human race coming together as one to help out.

Many have fallen on March 11, 2011 and many stories ended that day. The survivors are left to pick up the pieces of their past. Moving on from this for the survivors is not going to be easy, they lost their family, spouses, children, everything they owned. Nothing will ever be the same for them and my heart goes out to them.
