Dropping the Attitude

Flush it

To many times lately, I am hearing horror stories of co-workers holding bad attitudes that really hurts the office environment as a whole.  How managers let their co-workers get so grumpy or negative towards other co-workers is beyond me. Today, we are going to take a quick moment to discuss this and how we can combat this.

Starting off, lets discuss your fellow office mates and how some of them maybe killing your office moral.  Some of us go to work to get the job done and take home the check. Others go into work with a giant sense of pride and wanting to be the best. Finally there are those who go into work who hate it and everyone in it, especially the ones that are happy.

Every office has that grumpy person who is just so negative it make’s people sad. This person usually also is the laziest person there or if they are the most productive, still can cause pain. Many people try to walk eggshells around this type of person or just give in if they need something done.

This negative person is the person to go after people emotionally, by either yelling, talking down to, and being out right rude. Making the person and people in your office very uncomfortable, this leads to talking behind the back, gossip, and less work being done.

My questions to you managers out there, is how do you let this person go about their day at your office.  If you have a negative nancy ruining your office, it’s time to take him/her aside and give them the thirty-day notice to change or go out the door. No matter how great someone is, they can not be allowed to ruin your office moral.

Remember as a manager or even an employee, it’s your job to make sure the moral in the office is great. Weed out the bad behavior and praise the good behavior. With an office team happy and working well together, you can be sure that your production level will be ten times as better without the grumpy pants there. Kick that sour puss to the curve today!

Dropping bad attitudes is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer living in, but beginning to own!
