The Random Acts of Kindness

That's love.

Random acts of kindness are great little tidbits the human nature holds. It’s amazing hearing stories or seeing videos of people randomly helping someone in need. I am not talking about donating and volunteering this time around, though that is still very amazing.  Today, I am talking about the unplanned random acts of kindness that can save a life in an instance.

Back in October 2010 in Lake George, NY, my father was walking at around the town when he saw a massive truck take a hard right. At the same moment a child about the age of ten was walking on the side-walk with his family. In a moments noticed my father pulled the kid out-of-the-way of danger! If the child wasn’t moved out-of-the-way, the giant mirror would have smacked the child right in the face. Who knows the outcome if my dad wasn’t there to grab the kid out-of-the-way of danger.

After the event, my father kept moving like nothing happen and went about his day. The child’s father was so grateful he offer to buy him something and expressed how thankful he was saving his child’s life. My father didn’t want or need anything, just stated he acted on instinct and did what any normal person should do.

Now, after my father left, I have no idea what happen with the child and the family. My guess is my father will live in that family’s stories for a long time as the stranger who saved the child’s life.

My point of this long-winded story today, is you never truly know what you do that affects others. You maybe walking down the street and a stranger is in danger and you lend a hand. Not asking for a reward or wanting anything but to simply help.

World needs more random acts of kindness to help make it a better place. You never know how you truly impact others in your life and not in your life. One thing could change their lives and it truly was nothing, but doing what you need to do.

Giving random acts of kindness is key in this Savage World; that you are no just living in, but beginning to own!
