The New Path

Start today..

Going with the blog of yesterday and how to handle changes, lets discuss today what the new path is like.  At times in our lives we all decide to go down a path and try something new. Sometimes the new path is good and sometimes it is bad. You can never really tell which direction is the best route to go until you decide to go down it.

Starting down your new path is exciting and a lot of fun. It’s like a new adventure to embark on to see where it leads. A new path can be anything from moving to a new school or town, starting a new job or position, or doing a new life goal.

At times in our lives we just need to go out and go down a new path. It’s hard to do, because changes aren’t always fun.  In fact changes are down right scary most of the time. You will miss seeing all your old friends, coworkers, changing habits, etc. It’s scary, but it is really exciting when you take the first step.

Every path has dangers and pitfalls that you need to be wary of. You must keep a look out not to stray and go back to the old ways/habits, because you get homesick, work sick, etc.  When you decide on a new path you got to muscle through it, no matter how hard it gets.

Once you make it to what I call the half way point you start to feel more comfortable. This is where you will stay most of the time on the path when you are happy with it. If you don’t reach the half way point, you will fall back and retreat to older habits. Remember to muscle through it and continue head on.

The only time your new path ends is when you decide to take another new path. Yes, there are forks in every path you walk on. Don’t confuse them as new paths, just consider them key choices you need to make to continue down the right path. Sometimes a fork in your road can lead to a dead-end that could take years to back track out of.

Stay strong and start that new path today! Don’t worry about the fears and the change. If you’re going to do and want to do it. Ask yourself one thing, what/who is stopping you? If someone/something is, then time to dump that and go for it!

Starting new paths is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer living in, but beginning to own!
