Monday Meetings

For the meeting of course.

Monday mornings are my personal favorite part of the week, no I am not crazy, I just love Mondays. Though today we are talking about getting the work week started right and there is one key thing for any person, business, worker, etc. The key to success is keeping people informed and working together. One little secret to this is having a Monday morning meeting with your team. That’s right, before you complete your first task or call of the week, meet with your team. Let us discuss why.

Why is this meeting so important, you ask?  The number one reason is the fact that it gets everyone on the same page.  This is an honest meetings to discuss the sales that are coming, the projects that need to be done, the status of all your work etc. This way every part of your company is in the know. I am not talking about having the whole company sit in this meeting if you are big enough, but at least the managers of each department. That will get the movement on and all the departments working together and not fighting to who is doing what.

Also as a boss or manager, this will really let you see where everything is in the company. For example, Bob the sales manager closed a deal with company X, they will need one million widgets ready by the end of the month.  Now every department sees the sale, knows what needs to be done, and then have the floor open with the right departments to get the job done in good time and with the highest quality.

A company works well when it is in unity and working together. Everyone needs to understand all the aspects of the company. Too many times department heads are fighting over certain issues, because they want it done and they don’t know why it’s not done. This breaks down all the confusion, this is why you need to open up for questions and allow everyone to get on the same page.

Now the key is to keep it calm, respectful, and easy. You will have hot heads on your team that will work on bullying their way in. This needs to stop by the boss before it starts. A calm level playing field, where every department is viewed as a key piece to the companies growing success.

In recap, there needs to be a Monday morning meeting in place to start the work week. An open discuss of all the deals and development that needs to be on the board. Every department needs a rep there to discuss all the happenings and keep a level head. The different teams must work together, to make the company stronger!

Remember the Monday morning meetings in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
