Facing the Storm

Everyday there is always a storm brewing near us, it may not hit that day, but it will hit soon. The winds can be calm most of the times and you may not even see the storm coming, but that is when the first bolt of lighting can strike and tear your world to sunders! When you least expect, it can come down upon your world and cause chaos. How do you prepare for this? How do you pick up the pieces during the aftermath? Why does it happen?

Preparing for a storm isn’t something you can really do. There are many different type of weather patterns out there that can be hard to detect.  Though there are some storms you can help prepare for, like your car, most of your work, family issues, etc. Others like a break in, death in the family, loss of job, etc. is harder to prepare for or see coming.

While you want to prepare yourself everyday for every unlikely event, it just isn’t possible. If you try to prepare for every coming storm you are going to be lost in a sea of fear and that is no way to live your life. Instead, just stand strong and just mentally be prepared to keep your cool and head over the issues. Don’t get mad, that does nothing to help the oncoming storm, just take a step back and figured how to stay safe.

During the time of the storm, most of us will freak out and run around like a chicken with their head cut off. Never do that! As stated before, take a step back, see the issues and what you need to do to make it okay. Go to the simplest solution to survive the storm. Don’t yell, scream, or run away, face the storm head on with a cool mindset. If you break down, you are only going to cripple your thought process and could be swallowed up by the storm. Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and place both fists at your side with your held high facing the storm!

Then comes the aftermath and how do you survive this? How does life go back to normal? Sometimes after a storm, life will be normal again in time, other times, not so much. The major storms can leave us with a broken heart that will take years to heal, others leave you in fear, and some will make you change how you live your day-to-day life forever. It’s all about adapting after the storm and picking up the pieces, piece by piece. This is not always a bad thing, learning to adapt is apart of growth that you need to survive in this world and become a better person.

Storms are always brewing and very hard to escape. It’s best most of the time to just face it head on and not run from it. You can only avoid the rain for so long. Own up to your storms, face the fears, and hold your ground!

Learning to survive storms is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
