Making the Right Choice

We make major decisions almost every day, some are a lot bigger then others. For example changing jobs, buying a new car, buying a new house, or proposing to the love of your life.  These are big, life changing events and shouldn’t just be done at the drop of a dime. Sure, it sounds fun to just go, “Hey, I known you two weeks, let’s get married!!” Yes, sounds romantic and sometimes that is the best thing in the world, but being a stats person that I am, really outcome not so good.

In life we need to make the right choices and really think about the long-term effect. For example, I am looking into buying a car and there was one I really wanted last night. Problem was, it was a year older than my current car, high mileage and just not a real long-lasting car. Would that be a good choice? Probably not and looked a few more, got some great cars in mind and now researching which cars will have the long-lasting value.

Trick is to really look at what you are about to do and picture yourself in five to ten years with that thought. You may want that new sports car right now, but you may have the baby on the way, bad idea.  This new job offer sounds amazing, but looks like the work will be too much and the pay not worth changing  jobs, or that house looks amazing and could be fun to fix up, but will cost too much in the end, etc. etc.  It all comes down to just learning, researching, discussing out every detail to see if this is a the right choice for you.

In the end, just focus on making sound decisions and discussing the details. Make sure you know what you are getting into. Remember, it’s the right now effect that you need, it’s the long-term effect. Take your time and understand all aspects.

Making the right choice is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
