Helping Yourself

Helping yourself out, may sound a little selfish and probably is if you overdo it. There are times in our lives where all we do is give, give, give and not receiving much of a return. As great as it is to give and help out (which you should always do), there is a time and place where you need to give back to yourself. Let us see why this is the case.

If all we do in this life is give, give, give, and no return, who is going to take care of you. People always love to receive help or a break without wanting to give much back. They always need a favor or need someone to help them out in a pinch. A good friend would return the favor when needed, but this isn’t always the case. So what do you do when you feel like all you do is give and no one gives you anything back? You do it yourself, but how?

The answer is pretty easy today, give something small back to yourself. Doesn’t have to be much, it could be an hour of sitting on your butt relaxing watching your favorite show/movie, playing a video game, reading a good book, etc.  Just something to give your mind and body a chance to recover for not only your day but from taking care of everyone.

In the end it all comes down to having some me time and peace of mind. You can’t expect people to take care of you as you take care of them. But, you can take care of yourself the best way you know how. So tonight, go home, fall onto the sofa and have some well-earned ME TIME!!

Helping yourself is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
