Presentation is Everything

That cool huh?

They say image is everything. It’s true on how you present yourself the world will judge you. The don’t judge theory doesn’t work in the real world, people judge your actions, appearance, work ethic, family values, friendship, etc. It’s all what you do and present yourself to the world. This is a hard ability to master, which is how to be the best person by show casing the best image to your peers.

You can look like a million bucks, but be the world’s biggest jerk. People will over see your looks to run away from your jerk like attitude.  The people you do attract when you are jerk, you may want to look at who they are?  They could be yes men/women, who just look for someone to guide them and abuse them. Do you really want that? If you do, the truth of your hatefulness will never shine. These groups are usually bullies, they look beautiful, but have that ugly heart. Usually karma catches with this group to slam them in the ground and reality.

Then you have the people who air out their dirty laundry to the world. Talking bad about every person they know, their family members, spouses, kids, etc.  You know the winds will take your words so they reach everyone in your group, to fall into the lap of the person you were talking about. Now, how do you feel when you tell the world your spouse is horrible, your kids are horrible, your family, friends, etc? Do you feel better venting it to everyone? If you tell everyone, they will start thinking, what do you say behind their backs? The lack of trust you show when you showcase hate on your social media and social groups. Be careful who you share your vents with.

Now comes the dress code part in the professional world. I notice a lot of guys lately are going to work in jeans, a dirty button up shirt (at least one button undone), facial hair that looks like a bad 80’s movie reference, and hair that isn’t brushed, etc. Women you too are dressing a little under the part to, showing off way to much or on the flip side, wearing trashy clothes, like jeans and t-shirts.

The thing is when you dress to impress or go into work, just dress the part. Your clients/bosses are going to want someone that is professional, not a child out of high school just rushing his first frat or a girl who is stuck in the party mind. They need someone they can depend on. Your social media page showing you getting drunk, partying, is not ideal. Show family pictures, friends having good fun, not keg stands. Employers and clients do view your pages. Just food for thought.

Try to play this advice in your world, not just the business world. Try to dress the part, don’t look trashy anymore, you’re out of college. It’s okay to wear hoddies and jeans with friends, just not in the office. Don’t trash others so brutally in the public eyes, everything is always listen, because it’s easier now with social media. Don’t be a jerk and talk down to others, even if you look awesome on the outside, make it beautiful inside and out.

Learning how to present yourself is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
