The Joy of Thanks

Times to say Thanks!

Many times we get caught up in the troubles of the world. We truly look for the bad in people and never the good. We find flaw in our friends and families to let us know we are better than them or reasons why they shouldn’t be around. It’s sad that this happens more often than not. Instead we should look pass the flaws and find the beauty in everything.

This past week I got to spend time with my parents and wife in the beautiful city of Baltimore, MD. This was a time to be thankful and it allowed me to do something I haven’t done in my life time, spend Thanksgiving with two of my favorite cousins, my godfather and one of the best aunts, plus my parents and my wife. On the way there it rained the whole time and on the way back for most of the time. Needless to say it was an ugly drive there and back and we could have been really horrible to each other. Instead we did the opposite.

This trip really made me appreciate my family and friends with all that they do. It was one of those times where everything went together even though we got hit with some hard news about some love ones. Instead we didn’t focus on all our flaws, which we all have, but we focused on how great it was to be with each other. The only sad part was leaving, but the light in the story is reason to visit again soon.

My message today is stop focusing on the negative or if you feel like someone did you wrong. Living in hate or fear of someone hating you is sad, instead live in the place where you are thankful for every second you get with someone. In the end it doesn’t matter if someone borrowed $100 from you and didn’t pay it back or if they stood you up. Just let it be, and enjoyed the time you have. Give thanks to them and if the time comes to move on, let it be and say thanks.

Just enjoying the time you have is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!!
