All Work and No Play

Make you a dull boy

Now-a-days it’s always work, work, work and no play. Remember the movie/book The Shining? The famous quote? “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” Well the saying is true, all work and no play will drive you crazy! Many times we over work ourselves with school, plus work, plus family life, etc. that we forget to take time for ourselves and when we try to get a few hours to ourselves, BOOM we are pulled into another person’s world.

So here’s what we all need to do, slow down and stop for an hour a day. No, there is no excuse why you can’t pull yourself aside to stop working or dealing with people for an hour. This is how you release the stress, find something that can help calm you down and shut off the world. For me, I turn on the game system and just get lost in a fake world. For others it’s jumping into a book or a quick run. (Which I also do at times)

By getting out of your routine and just turning off your world for a little bit, will make your life ten times easier. Understand it’s hard to get away, cause of spouse, friends, family, kids, etc. etc. but still just force yourself away from it for an hour each day. Trust me, you will thank me afterwards.

Giving yourself a break a day is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
