Happy Valentine’s Day!

And they call it.. puuuppppy lloooovvvvve

Call it a hallmark holiday, call it just some lame excuse to get someone you love a gift, or call it the day you hate because your single. Honestly though, you shouldn’t hate this day. So what, that it seems like a corporate holiday and have everything commercial like. Yes the roses are over priced, yes the jewellery cost way too much, etc, etc. Honestly though is it worth it, to take one day a year to tell your special someone they mean the world to you?

The thing is, we shouldn’t need one day a year to tell someone how you feel. Yes, even you single people out there. If you like someone place your heart on the line and tell them, what’s the worse thing they can say? No? Oh okay, well then you move onto the next. Don’t worry it won’t ruin your friendship. Just a little weird at first.

Once a year we have this day that is meant to showcase our feelings for people we care for. It’s not a bad thing to spend a little, just to let the ones know you care. Heck, you don’t even need to spend a lot. The best gifts are from the heart and should come from there. Don’t feel like you have to buy them the biggest diamond in the world. Get them something you know they would love and make it from the heart.

For example one of my valentine’s day with my wife (who I was just dating at the time), bought me a six piece collection of the 1967 Boston Red Sox World Series glasses. Needless to say, I was shocked, happy, and overjoyed, one of the best gifts anyone could have ever given me. So see it’s not about how much you spend, but what you get them.

Now men and women, if your other is mad because you took the time and effort to get them the best gift ever and it wasn’t the high price item they wanted. Then you need to have a real heart to heart with them. Sometimes, people just aren’t good gift givers and if you are that way these days can be hard. Don’t let your spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. get upset because you didn’t buy them the $10,000 ring.  Just place yourself in their shoes to know what they want.

Valentine’s day should be celebrated and shouldn’t be ignored. Even if all you do is go out to dinner and have a nice evening. Express your love today, don’t hold back and be sweet to them. Go over the top or stay low-key, as long as they know you love em.

Celebrating Valentine’s day is amazing in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
