The Hardest Part of Waking Up

Wake up and smell the coffee

The hardest part of waking up, is getting that first foot out of your bed. It’s hard to leave the comfort of the comfy bed, covered in blankets, and head on a comfy pillow. The annoyance of getting out of those warm protective sheets is hard. Totally understand that, but today we should talk about why it’s okay to get out and moving.

The morning is the best part of the day, everything is just coming into focus, birds are usually singing, and it’s just the best way to pace your day. Tired in the morning, I understand most people are. Not a morning person, okay, that’s fine, but you have to work on that, harsh, I know but being a morning person is pretty important.

Think of it this way, you hate the morning because it takes you out of your dreams, comfy bed, and safety of the blankets. That is the only reasons why you really hate mornings most likely. It’s an irrational hate, because mornings are just a time of day. Getting up and moving clears up the fog in your head from your dream state.

It’s hard to do, I know. It’s easier to stay in bed longer and then act crappy till you get the first sip of coffee. It is not fair to act crappy and mean in the morning, because it’s the morning. The thing is, it’s the morning, we know it’s hard for people, but it’s not an excuse to act all mean. Bitter morning people, turn into bitter afternoon people, which turn into bitter night people, because it’s okay to be moody in the morning.

Here’s my tip today on mornings. Before you wake up and get out of bed, look around, see what makes you smile. For me, it looking at my beautiful wife, my two sleeping pups, pictures on the wall, etc. Then think about the day ahead and how great it can be. From then on all you have to do is force yourself out of bed and face the day, things will be great! It will be okay, face the day with a great attitude and you will see that mornings, aren’t so bad.

Being a morning person is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
