End the Bullying

Stop the Hate

Bully, is a word that has been used in playgrounds and high schools for many years. There is always that one child or group of children who feel it is okay to bully other children. As a child, I was a victim of this and though most of the time I turned my other cheek in person, others I responded with a fist. Though the pain that came when you got home, alone in your room, with the thoughts of being ugly, nobody likes you, hate towards yourself, etc. It’s real and the bullies, truly don’t realize the hurt they can cause.

Now, after being bullied for many years on my coke bottle glasses, braces, short, etc. I built my own ego to overcome that, but still the ego was built because of the consist issue I have with how I look. Every morning I look in the mirror with now contacts, still small, hair in place, no braces, etc. Just to make sure that there is nothing wrong with the image in the mirror to face the day.

It’s the lingering effect that a bully does to others around them. Now that Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets have come along, bullying has now gone to a whole new level. The cyber bullying is out of control, people send threat behind computer screens, harsh attacks on a person’s Facebook, and find more ways to destroy a person’s piece of mind, because they can.

Today, we all need to place a stop to this. They say the best way to get rid of a bully is to ignore them. Well, let’s try that and let’s make a point not to respond. The cyber bullies are almost the worst then in your face bullies, they hide behind screens and throw hurtful messages, words, etc to us. It’s time to just report everyone that comes across to you, don’t respond to their hate, and worse case delete your account or block their account.

This article I read today, which I will share in a bit is pretty powerful and should be read fully to understand what happen with bullying and cyber bullying. This article is pretty  shocking in my view,  after reading this, it needed to be shared. Granted this was an article back in early January of this year, it’s pretty important. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2083504/Amanda-Cummings-suicide-Hate-messages-Facebook-tribute-page.html .

With all this talk about bullying, I want to make it clear that it isn’t just about school bullies. This goes out to the work place bullies, the bullies who never grew up and continue to push, poke, scream, and make others feel horrible to make themselves feel better. You need to stop it, children follow your example and if you have children and you are still a bully or were a bully, chances are so is your child.

Bullying has just been expanded with the birth of social media and it’s not going away. The fact that it is growing instead of shrinking is another growing concern. If you are bullying or enjoy attacking people in person or online, think of the damage you are causing and what it can lead to. People commit suicide over bullying , run into a school opening fire because of bullying, or both.

How do we end beside ignoring, that I am not sure of. Teach our children right from wrong, teach by example, don’t bully them or others yourself. The only way to stop bullying people is to stop bullying yourself and making sure your children aren’t bullies. If we all did this across the globe, there would be no more bullies.

Putting an end to bullies is a big key in this Savage World, that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!!
