The Night of Champions

The Crowd

Now, I am not the biggest University of Kentucky fan, in fact I am probably the person you don’t want to talk to when it comes to their sports team. In fact 95% of the time, this guy right here can’t stand the fans and the team. A little background, if you don’t know, I live in the heart of Wildcat Nation in Lexington, KY.  Honestly, I can’t stand the UK fans or the school for the most part, just due to their cocky attitudes. Then last night happen and all the things that came with it.

As a resident of Lexington, KY, I will never be a University of Kentucky fan, but I will support my city.  Last night Lexington, had something to be proud of, their team won a National Title for them and is bringing it home. It was a great time for Lexington and really was a great show of emotion, heart, soul, etc for the team and city. It was when fans go bananas and some of them ruin it for others.

This past weekend and last night, Lexington had an explosive of people into the main campus bar area after every win. Would say 85% of these fans were just having a good time, cheering, celebrating, and enjoying the sweet taste of victory. The other 15% is what we are going to discuss today and is one of the major reason why I have an issue with this school.

This weekend when Kentucky beat cross-state rivals the University of Louisville, I got to hear and witness cars being set on fire, sofas being burned, beer bottles being thrown, etc. This was not the sign of good sportsmanship, in fact it put a giant stain on the city on how we act when we win. Then came last night, a car crashed into a bar patio, garage was caught on fire, cars on fire, shootings, etc. This again was a very nasty sight and the eyes of the nation saw it.

Yes, I know that was a small percent of people doing the bad deeds, but people look for the bad and the not the good sadly. To defend the city a little, there were a ton of people down there in the city who came out with families to enjoy the cheering and taking pictures with the riot police, who were happy for that. Those fans were the best sports, cheering, excited, and happy for their team. These are who I like to see when a team wins a title.

Sadly those good fans will be overshadowed by the few fans who found an excuse to destroy the city, because “their” team one. These fans are the reason why people will start to hate your team and town. They see the bad and not the good of your team. The question is how do you stop them? The answer, you really can’t.

Thing is, each cities fans will react differently when they win. In 2004, Red Sox fans cried and cheered after they won the world series. In 2002 Ohio State fans rioted after they beat Michigan in a regular season football game.  Every time the Yankees win, their fans cheer, scream and enjoy another victory. The world watches what we do when our team wins and every city is different.  Moment your city turns to rioting, fires, tear gas, etc. all the happy moments and good people are erased by the ugliness of your bad seeds.

Meaning of my post today is the only way to stop this view on your team is to be a good sport and fan. Be the fan that cheers, cries, gets excited, give out high fives, all that and don’t be the fan that turns to crime after your team wins a big game. Esp, now that Facebook is around, once you are video destroying a car, chances are you will get busted!!

In the end of the night after the trophy is handed out and your team is rewarded the prize, be a good sport. Don’t be a menace to your fan base, have pride in your team and yourself. There is no need to riot, just enjoy happy times with your friends and fellow fans.

Being a good fan is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!

The Circle of Positive Events

It's a circle

At times life can be hard and seems like it will never end, kind of like a bad country song. You’re spouses leaves you, the kids are sick, you’re dog is gone, and your car blew up. Just some times it seems that the world is just out to get you. Then in a few days, weeks, or months, it starts to turn into a positive circle of events, where it’s just one great thing after another. First you get a new love interest, kids are better, dog came back, better car, etc.  All because you did it the right way, keeping your head up.

It’s very hard at times to see the sun peaking through the dark clouds and understand even the most positive person gets worried. The bills pile up quickly and you don’t have enough here and there. Times are getting harder before better and all you can do is work on figuring out how to become better.

There is a small trick to overcoming your bad luck, that is to keep your head up and keep going.  Sure, it’s dark out at times and we all have worries. Things will be okay though, just watch. Everyone has a success story waiting to happen, sometimes it takes years and years of hard work to pay off, but one day you will hit a small groove. After you start that small grove it will continue to go up and up, the clouds will start to break away, finally allowing the sun to shine brightly for you.

This brings the circle of positive events, you will continue to have more positive results as you make the positive changes. It will be like a never ending circle of energy going through your world, with some clouds here and there, but continue down the path with that head held high to see what happens.

Making your circle of events is needed in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!!

Ready for the Holiday

Let you're color's burst!!

The clock is ticking down to the fourth of July weekend!! That’s right everyone, we are all about to experience a much needed three day weekend. Myself, I am looking forward to taking a few days off of the grind and normal workday life. Now, with that being said, we all need to remember one little thing, for the next few days, stay focus!

Honestly, we all know that you sit at your office saying, “why can’t the weekend come faster, so I can go out and do this and that.” It’s just what we do, we want to enjoy the holiday with our friends and family. The small break helps reboot our mind and body. This is a true break that we need.

Now, the thing we need to remember today and throughout the week is being focused.  Remember all the work you have piled up to the side of you, next to the computer, yes, that pile. Work on it this week! Do extra this week for a few reason.

Number one, this week is going to drag if you let it and taking breaks to talk with co-workers, spouses, etc. will not make the day go by faster. Doing the work load you have and just focusing mostly on that will get you far ahead for the short week after the holiday and the days will go by faster.

Second, getting ahead will help for next week. Remember it is a short week and you don’t want to be stressed the moment you arrive back on Tuesday.  More work you get done today, the less work you have to get done tomorrow.

Lastly, the main thing is just remember it’s a normal five day week. No matter what is coming on Friday afternoon, after you leave you office, you are still going to work your normal hours. There is no reason to slack or try to just go about your day. With step one and two above, remember them to work through this last step. This way, you can be prepared for this week and the coming week. Honestly, the following week is the hardest to get back into the groove.

Staying focus during holiday weeks are very important in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!

Kick Start Your Monday

YAY MONDAY!!!

Today, I am writing to you all from Starbucks with a fresh cup of coffee. That’s right, at the moment, I am enjoying the morning! Talk about the morning starting off with a bang, literally, woke up to a giant boom of thunder! This means to me, that my week is going to start off with a BANG! Even though, over here, I should be dreading going over to the dentist this morning to have some work done. Instead, I am excited to finally have my last of three dentist appointments, so that my teeth will be healthy again!

What’s the point of my little ramble to start off today, the normal get off your butt Monday morning blog! Yes it’s Monday and you probably sitting at your desk or office crying how you wish the weekend wasn’t over. That’s nice you had a great relaxing weekend or busy visiting family, but now it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee!

If you have a hard time adjusting from weekend to work week, then here is some small advice. First off, relax and get excited for Monday. Don’t use the excuse, “I hate Monday’s, so I am just going to hate em and you have to do with it!” Now, what kind of negative attitude is that? Why would you say, deal with my bad mood because it’s Monday? How is that far to yourself, friends, family, spouse, kids, coworkers, clients, etc. ? Really sit down and ask what does being so negative about a day do for you?

You know what it does to sound like a Negative Nancy on a Monday? Nothing, but people upset with you and not wanting anything to do with you. Also it shows the type of person you are, even if you don’t think you’re a negative person. Though, if you come to work every Monday with a giant chip on your shoulder, then you kind of just become this beast no one wants to deal with.

How do we fix this? It’s very easy, just change your outlook on life and Monday’s.  Do something that will help you make it a treat on Monday. If that means going down to Starbucks and buying your favorite cup of coffee. You can also go for a small run or workout in the morning to help kick-start your week. Also you can set up a lunch with a friend/loved one on every Monday, to make it more exciting. Have something planned every Monday that is exciting to help get you excited for it!!

The trick is truly to just see it as every other day and just embrace it. Monday is no different than Friday. Just it’s the start of your week and not the end. Smile big today and get pumped for the week!

You’re Pretty

Very...

Media is killing the way we look at ourselves, always keeping us feeling like we need to look like the famous people.  This pressure from our peers, television, movies, etc. just weighs on us at time. Though there is a trick to beating this social image, it’s believing in yourself and do what you need to do to make you feel better. Remember, you are beautiful the way you are! No matter what the world says, you are beautiful.

This is when having an ego helps you out.  Yes, people see some people with an ego as a bad thing, because that person is very sure of who they are. The trick is staying humble when you hold an ego. Even at times if you think you aren’t good enough, remember to look into the mirror and say, “Yes, I am great, no matter what they say!”

Remember you’re not ugly because the media says you are, you are only ugly because you say it. Turn it around and say, I am pretty and good-looking! Remember who you are, and if you wanna change something then work on it. Just don’t damage yourself in the process.  Be true to yourself and everyone around you, just remember who you are.

Stay pretty in your mind, body, and soul. Pretty as in state of mind, don’t sit there and dwell on what you don’t have or don’t look like. That only leads to sadness and chasing a demon you can never catch. You want bigger muscles, then workout, you want to lose weight, then workout. Just don’t do damage to your body with steroids, implants, chemicals, etc. Stay true to yourself, by working on yourself naturally. This will bring far more joy in the end.

Be yourself, embrace who you truly are, and enjoy this life. You are truly your own worse enemy. Believe in yourself and you will go far!

Believing in yourself is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!

The Art and Joys of Staying Positive

The Sun!

Being positive is an amazing look on life that seems few people hold now-a-days. Especially in this social media world where everyone plus their grandmothers comments about every aspect of their lives. Funny, how everyone seems upset with the president, type of day, the guy who served them at the deli, how bad their job is, etc.

Personally, I understand to vent here and there once in a blue moon. It’s when you do it every day it begins to annoy your friends, family, spouse, etc. because all your issues are showcased to the world. Besides, what does being negative do for you anyway, besides make you feel upset more and more.

My suggestion in this social media world is to take a step back and just think about all the amazing things in your life. For example, tell the world you are happy to have a job to go to on a Monday morning or let the world know you are happy with your friends, family, and loved ones!

You know the negative thoughts you post on your facebook, twitter, linken, etc. just allows it to fester more into your head. Now if you are more positive in your social media and real world,  you will see a giant change.

More positive thoughts, post, and attitude, gives you a much better out look of life.  Stop and think about it, if positive thoughts are always going through your head, what is there to be sad about? Yes, bad things will happen and they will make you upset and sad. It’s how you handle things and now the entire world is watching you. The joys of social media is everyone reads what you do, that you’re boss, client, friends, family, etc.

Having a positive attitude and out look in life is very key in your success. Just like stated in the post about “The Secret” last week. The more positive thinking, the more positive results will come. The more negative thoughts, the more negative thing will come. For example, you hate Monday’s, well guess what your Monday’s will be horrible and the rest of the week probably won’t be as good. If you love Monday then it is most likely good and a great start to the week. All in how you see things.

Staying positive is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!

Throwing Your Heart In

All Together

Everyone is passionate at least about one thing, some of us are passionate about a lot of things. For example, we have our sports team we love, our bands we can’t live with us, our friends and family, and finally for some of us our jobs. Passion is what drives us to be the best. This love continues the need to go out and cheer for our friends, bands, and teams.  Without passion, we don’t have much to look forward to.

Myself, I am very passionate person as all my friends know. If I love a band and they are coming into town, I am there to support and meet them. My job or you could say the company I help run, is a big part of my life. It’s something that I been working on for five years now and it’s a big driving force in my life.  My friends and family know everything is dropped to be with them. Finally, my wife, is the biggest force in my life and everyone around us knows she is number one.

The point of hearing what I am passionate about is about is to stress the importance of showing your heart.  People can think that it’s cool to be cold and hide feelings. Instead if you are just upfront and honest, people will respect that more and you will have more success in all you do. Being cold and disconnected leaves you lonely in the end.

People like to sit and call a person like myself lucky. For all these bands I met, success in my company, friends, family, and an amazing wife. The truth be told, there is zero luck involved. Just hard work and always showing them my heart. They never need to worry where they stand with me, because I am so passionate I give them reasons to believe without trying.

Throwing your heart out into the world shows everyone the type of person you truly are. It helps you get ahead in your job, community, family, love life, etc. Think about this, you come into work every day ready to go, excited, and wanting to do the best for your company. Trust me, that does not go unnoticed. Yes, you maybe tired and feel like it’s a thankless job,

but trust me the higher-ups are watching and will reward you in time.

Inside your community volunteer for something you are passionate in. This will bring more joy to you then sleeping in on a Saturday for two hours.  Volunteering will allow you to enjoy doing something you are truly passionate about, it could be at the SPCA/Humane Society or Relay for Life. Either way, try it and throw your heart into it.

There is so many different ways to throw your heart out there and today we haven’t even touch the surface of what you can do. Please send some response of what you do that makes you happy and flexing your heart muscles.

The Gradual Incline

Don't Give In

When running your own business, you usually want to be a success and success now. You’re not always told how slow pace the incline to success can be.  Also the business is not always an incline, sometimes you get hit with declines. The trick is to keep positive and continue focusing the goal at hand.  Just like life, business has it’s ups and downs.

The gradual incline is a key factor in all aspects of life. Everyone wants giant success in all they do right away. They want to skip the struggles and live the good life like they see on the movies. Sadly, this is not the case in real life. We all don’t have endless supply of money or toys. This is okay, though, trust me in time you will get what you need.

In life if you spike, peak to early, then you have nothing to keep striving for. It is nice to be number one in the beginning. Then the pressure can crush you to your expectations and drive you to slump to fall hard. From first to worst.

On the other hand, if you work and build yourself up with the incline, it will be a little slower, but will continue to give you success over and over again. Yes at times, you will dip here and there only to increase hirer on your next upswing. This grants you success over and over again in life.

Success is not measure in how fast you make it, but how long you keep it. In time you will reach the mountain top, but take your time to enjoy the view on the way up.  Slowly but steady, step by step, you will be the success you want, just take the time to do the steps.

The gradual incline is key in this Savage World; that you are no longer just living in, but beginning to own!

If you Build It

Believe

Life can go up and down a lot. Sometimes you are doing amazing and other times you aren’t doing so well. Yet, some people still get all the luck and it’s hard to figure out why, right? Well today, we are going to answer that question for you a little bit.

Not to quote the “Secret” or promote the book, but a lot of what that book holds does work.  Think of baseball, a player who is slumping at the plate, usually gets their because of his confidence being rocked. Once he starts striking out, flying out, etc. he begins to doubt himself and his batting average, RBIs, hits, etc. go way down. Where at the other end, when a ball player is hot they are cooking with gas. They hit monster home runs, clutch hits, average begins to improve, etc. The difference is, they believe in themselves at that moment.

The key to having more good things happen is to not let the negative actions affect you! Yes, we all have bad days and receive bad news. It’s truly how we handle the issues. If you want your life to change for the better, start having positive thoughts and watch what happens. You may not notice the change today, tomorrow, or for six months from now. Keep that smile on and work through it, good things happen to those who believe.

For example, “If you build it; they will come.”  You watched Field of Dreams, if not I suggest you do. Remember all the trouble he had building that baseball diamond? He had nobody believing in him till it all came true. In essence that is what you should do, build a dream in your head, and if you build it will come true!

In a heart beat your life can change and you can make it a good one in this Savage World; that you are not just living in, but beginning to own!

Burning the Midnight Oil

Working hard

Working, running your own business, or raising a family is truly hard work. No matter what you part you are in, to be success you really need to burn the midnight oil. These means, you can’t just go about the day doing everything only at half speed. Even if you work hard all day and when you come home it’s straight to taking care of your house, spouse, and/or family, that is what you need to do.

It’s hard during sunny days, rainy days, beautiful days, and well I guess every day to stay focus at work. This goes with knowing all the work you need to do when you get home. It makes, life a little hard at times. This just means you need to work  a little harder.

There are reasons why we work so hard in our job and family, it’s because we want to be successful and stay that way. Sometimes people get stuck at where they are and don’t want to move up nor care if they fall down. It’s time we always remember that the work you put in today will make your life easier in the future.

This also applies for your family and friends, you want to raise healthy kids and keep friends, then you need to work on it. Yes, friends don’t always respond and they don’t want to work on that relationship, but you can. Your children, you want to be educated, healthy, well versed, great morals, etc. Then you need to take the time and work long hours with them. Not that it should be seen as a chore, but as a fun growing experience.

To achieve success in all aspect, we must work for it. It takes time, but in the end you will be happy with the success.

Burning the midnight oil is key in this Savage World; that you no longer just living in, but beginning to own!
